Fleet Sewer. Farringdon Market Split. The original tunnel was built in 1770, creating, for the River Fleet, one of its first underground sections, above which flourished the marketplace. In the end, the whole stretch was covered, becoming Farringdon Road. The section of Farringdon Road above this split, heading 400m southwards is still to this day ( Read more... )
