Depends on what style you like.

I'm afraid my skill lies more in the field of fencing than actual combat, while useful in some situations, it seems hardly fitting for an environment such as this.

I can teach you a bit of my style, if you wish.

What style would that be, if you don't mind me asking?

I have never used an axe, so I think staying with a weapon I'm somewhat comfortable with would be more advisable at least at first.

It's just the basic style used where I am from. Nothing unique.

I supervise a martial arts school every weekday morning, and specialize in swordwork. You can come to class as soon as tomorrow if you want, but we'd have to place you.

And you'd have to deal with listening to what I tell you to do. Think you can stand that?

That is acceptable, I suppose.

You suppose? Arrogant little...

[No, Zuko, play nice. Be professional. B| That? that's the sound of a carefully muffled sigh]

Alright. General martial arts start at 7am with a meditation session, but sword-specific work isn't until 10am. Like I said, I'd have to figure out where you'd fit in, so you should probably come earlier, maybe to the beginning level class at 8am. Unless you want to meditate or something. Could probably use it with that attitude.

[...lol Zuko, you hypocrite]

Do you mind if I come observe instead of taking part tomorrow.

[So he had died... Riff had suspected as much but some part of him had still hoped he'd managed to... The servant repressed the soft, sad sigh that tried to slip past his lips and instead made his way to his master]

[Here, Cain, have a loyal butler coming your way with a reassuring little smile. He's carrying a cup of tea, steam swirling up from the top of the hot drink, and it probably looks a little strange since there's no tray but... Oh, well. He offers the mug to Cain, with a soft murmur]

It's still quite hot, my lord. Do take care.

I've managed to secure most of the supplies you required, sir, including ammunition.

[ Cain took the cup carefully before holding it in both hands to let it cool slightly]

Thank you, Riff. I am sure they will all prove useful. Did you observe anything of interest while you were out?

[Riff watched him with a mix of fondness and worry. If Cain wanted to talk about the matters he's written about, that would be his choice, however. He knew Riff would listen. He nodded slightly.]

I explored the perimeters, as well as the inner parts of the city to the best of my ability. It is quite useful that at least there is a map available, isn't it, sir?

[Aaand lengthy report mode, go!]The area marked as a shopping district holds a fair amount of supplies and several buildings that store clothing. If my lord would like, we can go together sometime to secure more climate-appropriate attire. I located a munitions supply near the same area. There also appears to be a pub of some sort, though I did not step inside ( ... )
