I mean, people can change their name, I think. Like you can get your nickname changed.

[ The reason for the SFC transmitting this video is immediately clear. A big, green feline eye peers out of the screen. Purrloin is once again messing with her favorite toy. The voice is N, who is apparently having a conversation with another of his Pokemon.N ( Read more... )

What makes anything a real name? It's simply a word that has been elevated to a different meaning. Something that society has put far too much emphasis upon.

Not all of us subscribe to it.

It's just having everyone tell me it's wrong is...tiring.

Then give them another name that's clearly sarcastic. They'll get the hint real quick that you're not amused by them trying to push upon you their personal thoughts about names.

I guess I could do that. But they might believe me. I'm not very good with sarcasm.

You don't look like much of a Newton, so how about Nordström?

Also, math is for sticks in the mud. Switch to physics, dude. Now there is a challenge.

Nordström? I've never heard that name before. I like it.

But physics requires math. I like all of it.

Splendid. Nice to meet you, Nordström.

Sure, but it is only a tool. Physics is way more thrilling than solving some equations.

That's true. But sometimes I just want to relax. Equations are good for that.

What makes a name real or not real?

[Simple curiosity while he's working. And entirely ignoring the math, he knows when he's over his head with academics, thank you though the mun went and solved that bitch oh yes she did.]

[ Mun needs to solve that bitch because it's one of her homework problems, whoops. ]

I...

I'm not sure what the exact definition is, really. Something that's more than just a letter, apparently.

That's retarded. A name is what you make it to be.

[How much should he say? ...Bah.]

The name "Ai" is only one "letter", but it means a lot of things.

Does it? What does it mean?

...I don't think N means anything in particular, though.

It's a name to me, dude. If someone tried telling me that my name wasn't a name, I'd tell 'em to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

singularjustice April 30 2011, 23:31:20 UTC
Where the sun doesn't -- oh.

I've tried convincing them otherwise before, but they don't believe me. But thanks.

ninthserenade May 1 2011, 06:01:23 UTC
So ignore 'em. So long as you know it's a name it's okay. I bet they're just jealous, anyways.

singularjustice May 1 2011, 06:10:30 UTC
Jealous of what?

What is that?

[He's talking about the math problem, of course.]

[video] singularjustice May 1 2011, 00:15:12 UTC
...huh?

You mean the integral?

[video] notatimecop May 2 2011, 16:24:00 UTC
Whatever that is on the board. I don't know what it is.

It's math.

[ Seriously, what do they teach you kids back home? ]
