Shodan checked and re-checked her disguise. Her current shell was one of the entertainment models: realistic human proportions, supple skin, the works. She'd then spent weeks perfecting her holographic model - not too perfect, all the right flaws in place. It was difficult, irritating work, but eventually she had it. Janice Polito, aged thirty, curly hair of average weight and height. Green eyes, though; she wouldn't settle for anything else.

That in place, she looked perfectly human. She had to admit, the station holograms were quite advanced. As long as no one touched her, the illusion should be perfect.

She couldn't wait until they were hers to control.

She arrived at the garden zone only about a minute late - fashionably so. She took a few cautious steps, playing up the 'nervous survivor of a ship overrun by mutants' angle, giving Sarah a wary look.

"Sarah Connor...?" she asked, her eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Sarah returned the look with a wary one of her own, sizing the woman up, trying to determine if she was what she'd claimed to be. She definitely didn't look like a threat, nor had she come out shooting. That was always promising.

"That's me," she said, stepping forward, smiling a little to put Polito at ease. She looked a little rough around the edges, as if she'd seen some nasty things. Not that Sarah was surprised, if what she was saying was true.

"You doing okay?" she added, as she stopped in front of the woman. "We can find you some food first, or something."

"I'm fine," she said. "I've already eaten."

She sighed, folding her arms. "Forgive me; I'm still not convinced that rabid xenos aren't going to jump out of the shadows. Or that this AI isn't going to snap at any moment. Tends to put a woman on edge."

Sarah nodded once, not at all insulted by Polito's brusqueness. "I understand," she said. "I'd be lying if I said I felt at all safe here, either. But I don't think the AI is likely to snap suddenly." She paused. "At least, it hasn't yet."
