Barricade is not the biggest fan of going out in the cold; he'd be perfectly happy staying in his bar, The Rail Yard, until the temperature evens out, really. But even he has to go get supplies from time to time. It finds him trotting through the streets at a brisk pace, in the direction of any of the teleporters that will get him to the Junkyard or at least to Kurzweil.

Sadly, there is mistletoe everywhere. Including over The Rail Yard's threshold.

Oops.

Barricade's plating rattles as he comes back in from a supply run, shaking off snowflakes. So much warmer in here than out th- Oh. Hello there.

"Sneaking in, are you?"

"Are you so surprised?" he inquires, flicking his claws open slightly.

"You said it yourself. Frozen, f'r centuries. Dissected." His hatred of cold weather makes complete sense, as far as Barricade is concerned.

Alex is equally displeased about leaving the warm, but most importantly (for him at the very least) dry, indoors. But just like Barricade, sometimes he has to. Thankfully just then it's not the case, he's full so to speak and not about to get into trouble where he is so this state will likely continue indefinitely. Plus, he's more or less aware of Dana's whereabouts, he knows more or less what she's up to-- and that's enough for him ( ... )

Barricade is used to enduring things he doesn't like for the sake of productivity. It's why he doesn't mind just sticking it out and dealing with the snow for a little while to restock on supplies or dig out things in the Junkyard that he can take apart later. He just has to keep an optic on how his gears and other internals are handling it.

The trip's a bit shorter than others, this time, since he'd managed to dig up a Cybertronian arm fairly quickly. Even better, it was in good enough shape that he could strip most of the parts to keep in case one of the others needed replacements eventually.

Even if he 'retired' as a medic mostly, he can't quite stop thinking like one.

He comes back in, noticing Alex sitting on the lip of the threshold. The Saleen props one end of the arm on his shoulder - after making certain the door shut behind him - and grins up at his friend. "Hope you didn't get too bored."

There is not a whole lot of space up here, especially to sit or lie down, and any normal person would find it extremely difficult to hang on (if they even managed to climb up here). Not Alex though. Much like a cat (though damned whoever would point that out to him) he can sit there for hours, or even stretch out on his side, without dislodging himself from the narrow space. The sudden arrival doesn't move him, not any more than being pleased at having something to focus on ( ... )

"Understand that." Being limited to one place - even if that place was relatively large like this building - can get most people antsy. But at least the reason for being stuck is (relatively) minor, or Barricade would be stuck too, trying to keep people from leaving. There's nothing dangerous or injurious about coming or going.

He glances to the arm with a pair of optics, just offering a grin and chuckle for now. "Not lately. Found this in the Junkyard. Going to strip it for parts." Though he does pause, considering the getting into a fight thing. "Besides, if I managed t'take off my opponent's arm, I'd probably beat them with it."

"Add salt to the injured pride," Alex retorts, clearly unbothered by the potential violence and actually perhaps even amused, "Or use whatever resources available. Or both." He approves either way, having used just about anything in a fight himself.

"How is it out there?" It's casual, almost a lazy drawl when he asks, but there's no hiding his interest. Is it managable? Because he will need to get out sooner or later, both for (questionable) sanity's sake, and business, so to speak. And he will, regardless of the answer to his question, but he can hope for something a little less frustrating than snow-- all snow, everywhere.

With a few quick movements, he jumps down to the ground. Gently. While he doesn't care about property damage usually, here he is a guest and Barricade is someone he-- respects (which is probably lightly said, but it's as much as he will admit consciously), and he can respect his space as well. There will be no random, acciental or intentional damage here.

"Little bit of both. Humiliation is incredibly effective as a tactic." Especially in the arenas, where he last fought regularly. There he did do it mostly to humiliate the other gladiator. But if you could take off the limp while it was shifted into a weapon... endless possibilities.

"Not too bad out there right now. Still cold, but there's spots where the snow's been cleared off." For now, anyway. Who knows when it could start again. It's better than it had been for a while, regardless.

Barricade takes a half-step back to give Alex a bit of room as he jumps down. He knows the other man could hit the ground a lot harder than he did; he can recall that quite clearly from when he was younger, here. He doesn't say anything, just nods his head in thanks. He appreciates the care being shown for his property.

The cold hardly bothered Soundwave, but not much did. Surely he could feel discomfort because of the snow melting on his plating and in between the cracks though. He was well aware of how it was affecting the others as well. It made them a bit more difficult to track, with his systems sluggish and their habit of keeping indoors. Not that being indoors kept him from being able to listen-- not like the Autobots on Earth.

It brings him out of hiding, though, and Soundwave finds himself stepping up to Barricade's bar, tilting his head up to regard the decorations on the threshold. He didn't quite grasp the significance of them.

Barricade could probably hear his ping before he even steps inside.

Since this particular Soundwave arrived, Barricade has been waiting for this. The only problem with having a permanent base was that he'd eventually be found. He wouldn't do less, though; he'd gotten used to having somewhere to call home. And it's not just a place for him, anymore.

Even if he didn't hear the ping, his Lensmeter - tiny, huddled on a shelf out of the cold up front - sends him a personal comm.

He buries his uncertainty and nerves about this under the usual face he puts up, and saunters out of the back like nothing's strange about this situation. "Was wondering when you'd get here, darlin'."

It was inevitable, really. Barricade had the right conclusion about a stationary base. Unless it was hidden and fortified, Soundwave would eventually find it, and here he was. For a mech with a frame as slender as his, his footsteps fall heavy as he makes his way into the bar, documenting everything, mapping out the layout.

He stops around midway into the bar and stands there, regarding the other mech silently, studying him. His faceplate is blank of any attempt at communication, the only sign of life was the bright purple-pink processing animation playing across the screen.

`Well, how absolutely quaint.` The animation on his faceplate changes to a voice display as he plays back part of one of Kanaya's network posts.

Hiding this would have defeated the purpose of taking over as quartermaster and bartender for the Cybertronians. They needed to know where to go to find things. Besides, he'd wanted to bring a little Axiom back, and he has fond memories of the other Rail Yard.

Barricade studies him right back, all four optics focused on him. He's not going to let them wander to the closed doors that lead to the back room or the stairs going up to his apartment.

"Well, I do try. But m'sure you're not here to comment on my design choices." Though he supposes it's all just data anyway.

If one thing is certain, Soundwave isn't here for some Highgrade. It's been a long time since he's indulged as such anyway-- even a small amount typically impaired logical processing and coordination. In other words, he's a light weight.

He circles around Barricade's side, slowly edging closer to him. The truth was, he wasn't entirely sure what he could get from the other mech. At the moment, he was interested in studying him, learning about the differences in their inner circuitry.

He pings a response to him, a whispered laugh, and then, "HERE FOR INFORMATION."
