Meanwhile, Emile had just realized at O'Brien's questioning that he had no idea what the chain of command looked like anymore. Regardless of who the little ODST said he'd follow, Emile had no desire at all to lead anything, especially another Spartan. Sure, he was fine with taking tactical command, but strategic? Very, very not his style.

So it wasn't long before he was down in the kitchen, standing there and frowning under this helmet.

"Three."

"Stickin' with heads."

Maybe he'd have better luck this time.

Jun looks at the coin as it lands and frowns.

"Heads." He hands it back to Emile. "Best two out of three." He really really doesn't want to lead anything.

This time, Emile flipped it three times in a row.

Tails, heads...tails.

This really wasn't working as well as Jun had hoped.

"Maybe you're flipping it wrong?"

"You want to try again?"

Anything to delay the inevitable.

Maybe they could jsut keep flipping it until Thom came back. He tries launching it a little higher. "Call it."

That sounds like an amazing idea, actually. Sometimes people came back immediately. It happens.

Aaaaaaand -- "Heads." He glances up at Emile, a touch apprehensive. "Want me to flip again?"

This is the loudest sigh ever.

"Well, hell."

"Put it back. Guess I got tactical command until someone comes back."
