What is the reason as to why your clothes seem to be varied so greatly? There seems to be no productive use other then for visual appeal.

Will they be protective during battle?

It does not seem practical to go about without clothes that are to protect you though.

Does your race do this as a tactic to give off the false air that they are unarmed? I can imagine that it would easy to trick one into thinking you are harmless while having back-up.

I can not fathom otherwise why this is appropriate...

I know that many do not simply wear clothes for fighting, but I do not why one would want to wear such things.

Unless you are a slave.
