My students and I dissected owl pellets today. We just finished the book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen and we have been doing many different projects relating to owls. Dissecting the owl pellets was a great culminating activity. I neglected to tell my students exactly what they were until they finished the project. They were so engaged in the project. Any good April Fools' jokes out there? I gave my students the wrong words for the spelling test today. They should have studied. They didn't realize until I had gone through 5 or so words.

Background: My theme for my classroom is pugs. It started with a pug wall calendar and a picture of my pug on my desk.
