A way-too-long post about my new bed

Apr 27, 2008 22:12

It's a shame I'll never have kids, because I just bought a piece of furniture that's probably nice enough to be considered heirloom quality.

That EQ3 bed I bought two years ago had always kind of annoyed me. I thought a large, encompassing, upholstered bed would make me feel cozier and more secure while I slept, but it didn't. It was too big for ( Read more... )

Thoughtful workmanship means form doesn't have to negate function.

I could swear the mattress feels better now, maybe because it's not locked in a fabric prison anymore and has room to breathe.

i simply adore the bed. totally works.

i also love the fact and highly appreciate that you are always a considerate blogger - by this i mean you ALWAYS have your links open in a new window - such a small minor detail that most never ever (including moi) do. But I always click with confidence in your blog! I know no link will take me away from your LJ - just to another window!

Thanks for being the first to comment on this. I've never solicited feedback, but I"ve always wondered if people like the "open in new window." On the one hand, it saves people the trouble of having to worry about it, but some might think it's a little too controlling, like maybe they don't mind the Back button and like everything in the same window. I pretty much click every link while holding down COMMAND because I like almost everything in a new window.

I think most people notice and prefer it. I would be very surprised if anyone felt otherwise. I like being able to read the rest of your post while I wait for the window to load. It's all about efficiency. :)

Or maybe V-leg cozies, knitted with love by grandmother.

Nah, if you look very closely in the second pic, you'll notice the leg is sitting on tiny, brown, felt pads. Two per leg. Lifesavers (or security deposit savers) because those legs would totally shred the floor otherwise.

Ooh! Very pretty!

I'll bet I could have ten linebackers in this bed, and it wouldn't so much as creak.
Of course, that depends on what you and the linebackers are doing... ;-)

Well, the bed wouldn't make any noise, but one or more of the participants might ;)

I love the new bed! I love clean and simple lines.

I seriously need those two women to come and stage my house.

OMG, did you see some of the before and after pics on their website?

It's amazing that people could afford to own a home in San Francisco but then decorate the inside with a tornado-just-ripped-apart-my-doublewide theme. (Although, maybe that's the "house poor" phenomenon I've heard about.)
