A way-too-long post about my new bed

It's a shame I'll never have kids, because I just bought a piece of furniture that's probably nice enough to be considered heirloom quality.

That EQ3 bed I bought two years ago had always kind of annoyed me. I thought a large, encompassing, upholstered bed would make me feel cozier and more secure while I slept, but it didn't. It was too big for ( Read more... )

Going with a dark color was one of the better decorating decisions I've made lately. Much more soothing than the original beige, and more daring than light blue, which is what I'd usually paint a bedroom.

i like your new bed.imo,it actually looks more stylish without the mattress on:D.Hope you can find nice blankets.

Yeah, in the product advertisements, it's pictured with what's probably a 6" mattress from IKEA. Definitely looks better with a smaller mattress.

oh, and yeah i agree about the extra few inches - not always what you hoped they'd be! but at elast we're doing away with those uglee box spring things.

My last three beds have all been platform beds. I'm so over the box springs: such a waste of materials and space, and ugly to boot.
