Bonus News Roundup

Jun 08, 2011 03:22

Well, I've been trying to do the weekly roundup, but something somewhere is deciding to not let me load anything worth a damn, so here's the other bits of news not covered yet from a completely packed week.

- The mass linking of Vom@s stuff is underway on Nicovideo, combined with Kagamination. Check out the tags and then I won't feel as bad ( Read more... )

Technically I can make it in time for the Niconama, but I'm timeshifting anyway since not having premium pretty much guarantees me being kicked out in no time.

Re: KarenT, there's still Utatane Piko isn't there? Or is he already covered? Well, even I sometimes forget he exists so I wouldn't blame the guys at KarenT if they do too orz

My work internet isn't going to be able to cope with streaming, so I'll probably be watching V-Ism like a hawk or something for info. I can't think of anything else it'd be except Vocaloid3, though, in a Yamaha sponsored event.

Ah, you're probably right there. He's full on Sony Music, and I can't imagine they'd just throw him at Karen-T. That said it'd be pretty great if they did, just to allow Karen-T their crazy monopoly.

Heh, I'd probably be doing the same if my wonky connection dies on me or Nico kicks me out. As for other content, according to V-ism there's gonna be producers present and new songs played. And since it's Yamaha sponsored, maybe there's gonna be stuff on the "Everyone's Vocaloid Project" too?

That's a strong possibility too. The tone of the overall event is 'fans have supported us so much, let's give back', and the Project would be a pretty natural response. The V3 rumours are nowhere near being quelled, though.

Ah, about the AHS-loid music on Karen-T: Iroha songs aren't allowed yet, only Miki, Yuki, and Kiyoteru. This is (Presumeably) because she's also owned by Sanrio. (At least, this is what I've heard, feel free to correct me!)

As for that announcement...I'm thinking it'll be Vocaloid3. Whatever the hell it is, I'm impatient to find out.

Oops, no, it looks like you're right. Which is really a shame; hopefully they'll get that sorted out, since an akiba ota album up on Karen T would be all kinds of hilarious.

HNNNNNNNNNG GUMI EXTEND. I somehow missed this Kaito/Miku post and all other mentions, so eeeee /clicks videos
I was right - HNNNNNNNNNNG

The only bright spot in this AX jealously/rage ball of loneliness is that with such a positive Vocaloid appearance maybe it won't die in America and will spread across the country to me! 8D yeah rightThis ~Secret Party sounds pretty awesome, I hope it pops up on youtube soonish since my Internet has not been agreeing with Nico lately (or anything bandwidth-intensive beyond text). And I feel like the timing for VOCALOID3 is pretty close, even though I would have presumed there would be a larger gap between releases? And why is Kaito Append going to be VOCALOID2 if 3 is coming out? Nevermind I have no feelings. @__ ( ... )

I've heard of other people having solid problems with Nico and having to resort to nicosound; not sure what's up, other than maybe it just needs some new servers yet again.

I am super mad I cannot go to AX, damn it. Why did all the cool people have to be announced so suddenly?

Well I'd say my situation settles more on the state of my connection (not very stable) disagreeing with the average, mild 'problems' of Nico than anything out of the ordinary. Youtube just seems to load better, probably due to the lack of economy hours and me always hitting them plus that mysterious error that I think is Nico telling me I've refreshed too much or have too many tabs open. XD Thanks for the heads up, good to know I'm not alone even if it's not really the same problem.

I heard that a ton of the tickets bought were by people who have no idea what Vocaloid is, makes me sad. I mean, whoa what a first time experience and good for them but all the other people who actually would come to the concert/panels/events/etc with expectations and experience... Maybe that's just the classic hipster part of me showing but bah. I can donate $10 to you going to AX, Stelas! Quick start a donation drive! ♥

Hey, now, I'm a super-swank programmer guy. Sadly, the problem's the time off, not the money.

I dunno, I think that's encouraging more than anything. As long as the people going into it go in with an open mind and don't just go 'pfeh robots' then it's a pretty good deal. The panels are pretty much going to be open admission, the concert's really the only thing.

I am so jealous of everyone going to the Miku concert. I live so close to LA but it was sold out :(

There's still the panels, which I think are mostly just a matter of getting yourself to them and waiting in lines! If you go, be sure to take many photos so we can pore over them in our jealousy.

I don't have the money for the Expo now and I might be out of town that weekend :/ I wish I was going ! Hopefully Miku and the gang will be back next year.

I'd be absolutely astounded if they weren't, this is setting a massive precedent for more at the Expo.

I'm thinking Vocaloid 3, too, but then someone mentioned that the Vocalistener guys are going to be there, too. Even Sonika's twitter has mentioned the event. Whatever this is, its going to be HUGE.

I would say don't worry about the news too much, since other websites cover it pretty well, but there has been so many big news stories lately. Its a great time to be a Vocaloid fan.

Minor news: Miku's facebook page has reached 200,000 fans (The World is Mine concert clip is nearing 7 million views).

Chances might be good that Vocalistener will come out with it - as I recall that was going to be the case for VY2, but it got scrapped somewhere along production.

oh look a press release
