Well, I've been trying to do the weekly roundup, but something somewhere is deciding to not let me load anything worth a damn, so here's the other bits of news not covered yet from a completely packed week.

- The mass linking of Vom@s stuff is underway on Nicovideo, combined with Kagamination. Check out the tags and then I won't feel as bad ( Read more... )

- I'm wondering if it's worth having a single rolling post for news like this, but most weeks it's not really going to be worth it. Thoughts? Yes, no?

I don't catch all the news and I'd love to see an update like this occasionally in case there's something important I've missed.

I'm thinking about it! This month has very definitely been an outlier for news, though, so it could just be me worrying too much.

Let's see how long I can sit on this stream before I get booted off ^_^;;

It doesn't look like they've updated the graphical interface much although I'd give them props for having virtual knobs XD.

The press release kind of lost me when it hit stuff about Digital Workstation - I don't know what that is in English, let alone when trying to hamhandedly translate a document. :|

Looks like you can mash Vocaloid 2 soundbanks into Vocaloid 3, up to a point.

Just watching the demo in the stream. Looks like it's a virtual compressor so you can do more post-production editing within the Vocaloid editor. It seems like you can get a better sound out of the vocaloids off the bat so I wonder how much work would be needed once you put it into something like Cubase.

By the sound of it, they're trying to integrate enough stuff into the standard Vocaloid editor that you might not need to go out to other programs at all.*

* I am not at all good at making music and may be talking out of my rear.

I'll bet solid money that's going to be used as the basis for Miku English. Wasn't there already rumbling about PowerFX going to be using it?

Whoever is brave enough to do an adaptation will get hung, drawn and quartered by fans.

To be honest, that's kind of why I was hoping it would be DEEN, there is no way that would be anything but a fabulous trainwreck.

I suppose DEEN does have a special way of adapting things... but I don't think even they're stupid enough to walk into something like this XD
