Weekly Roundup

Aug 19, 2010 03:37

I'm really not feeling it, this week. A lot of the new releases just didn't stick with me, and the daily is currently flooded with Lily covers of Vocaloid songs, many of which... well... aren't very good. Even then, a lot of the bigger name songs and more traditional Miku affairs are also just not up to the par I'd expect. That said, if you haven't ( Read more... )

We should probably mention news about Rio, the new AHS vocaloid...

...How about starting with the fact that she's not officially the next AHS vocaloid. There's been nothing saying she is on AHS site, and, elsewhere, it was said that the artist is not KEI.

Also, Lily's extremely difficult to use. Since she has a limited range alto range...yeah. It doesn't surprise me that her demo songs aren't good.

I'd listen to the songs, but sleep is calling me. :

Not demo songs...but songs released using her demo software. Pardon me.

Well, she's released by AHS so that groups her under the "AHS" tag, just like how Lily's getting grouped under Internet even though Internet's just the distributor for it.

I am not denying that she's AHS, but everyone's saying that it's Rio when there's no official word that it is Rio. That's my problem.

I admit that I was vague. I really, really should go to bed before I become incoherent.

Why no Lily? I demand Lily!!
Oh speaking of Lily, Shu-t made a Lili's version of Fragment of Lights: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11771930
Lily sounds like Meiko... I guess it's just the way Shu-t tuned her....

Seiko's GOD mode is just... GODLY, I can't say more just... GODLY. Why no game company contract her?

Shinjou-P said she got new instrument. No wonder Lily Bell sounds better than her previous songs, and THAT'S PANE DHIRIA KAITO WITH BETTER TUNING!!!

but it never builds to a notable crescendo. It just kind of ends, and I'm sat there going 'huh? what?'
I agree with you, I was waiting for something happened, but... It end just like that... I am disappoint Mothy.

I can understand OrebananaP join the Mitsubachi bandwagon, but Glider too!?
Man, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if we'll see sugar-pop arrange with Miku by... Any big name Producers. Though, I doubt it could beat Yuyoyuppe and Neko's hardcore arrange, or Machige's Visual Kei arrange

Most of Lily's songs made me go '... D:' though I admit they're all over the top of the daily ranking right now so you'll likely see them come the end of this week. Of all of them I like Machige's the best, I'll dig out the link when I'm at home.

... I didn't see it, but then I only got linked it a day before the post went up and spent the time in some memetic, shadowy mental haze.

lol I love the tags on the Mothy Rin thing ("Is there no salvation?!" and "Max dark from the very beginning") and the commenters too, but yeah, this is yet another entry in the "Mothy is really boring musically" series for me.

It's been one of those weeks in general - I'm actually amazed that I had nineteen in the end, even if I do bitch about most of them in the post.

+1

Sometimes Mothy's music is awesome to listen to. But sometimes... meeeeeh. Honestly I fell asleep at Venomania too, and in general about half his greatness as a producer comes from his lyrics. Idk, honestly I don't even remember what any of his songs after Enbizaka sound like, they're just so blaaaand. MOTHY I AM DISAPPOINT you did Conchita I know you're capable of ultra-kickass tracks

I find it funny how usually his tracks first appear to be um, very midi, then afterward he'd do a remix of it or something and they become really cool. Wonder why. (Mainly talking about the original Zenmaijikake no Komoriuta and the version Asapon sang.)

New songs by Seiko, Shu-t, and A0010. I'd call that a pretty good week for me. And A0010 isn't exactly "someone new" if by that you mean this is his debut, he's done some other Miki & Yuki songs before, among others Keystlogical.

Lily Bell's really nice, though I somehow can't help but think "are those boobs?" looking at the pic... wtf me.

WTF is going on in that "Only Nirvana" video? Can't deny that the PV's pretty cool though.

Oh, and on the topic of Vocaloid news, there's a new Rin Append demo released. Not bad so far, though I'll be looking forward to demos of the other Append voices & Len's Append though dammit Crypton where's my CV04

Not so much debut - more like 'a Yuki producer not named kagome'.

Only Nirvana is, uh. It and Machine Muzik are both highly unique, as is whatever is inside Deino's head. I'm never quite sure if he's going for musings on the nature of identity and humanity or just going 'yeaaaahhh spiderleg mouth!'.

I don't really mind a lack of CV04 at present - with Lily and Rio and VY1 on the way the market is going to be a bit bogged down for a while and I'm sitting there going 'uugggh cannot keep up' myself. Chances are they'll get the appends finished now, then CV04 will come along when there's less going on so they can establish a stronger initial userbase - which is going to be critical if it's male, I think. Sensei came out in the midst of a slew of new voices and has barely been seen since.

Hm, you have a point about CV04 probably being held until after all the new Vocaloids are released. It's just that news about CV04 has been around for ages and yet there hasn't been much more news about it since, so I guess I'm just getting impatient about it. Huh, may as well just see how things roll with all the new Vocaloids now...
