So - people whose preferred activity is telling everybody how busy they are? One of my biggest pet hates ever. And your 'secretary' there sounds a lot like my replacement. Who doesn't seem to understand 'urgent'. Or, come to that, where the off button on her mobile phone is. I am currently usually the last one out of the office despite having my daughter to pick up. Why? Because I'm making lists of all the jobs that are in and the work that needs doing in an effort to make sure that when the imminent disaster arrives, it doesn't hit anything too important. She can leave an order sitting unattended for two weeks - aargh!
I guess that's called rant of reply. Short version - you have all my sympathy. I would suggest a strangers on a train swap, but I don't think I could sneak half way across the world without being noticed. Sorry...!
