Wait so now Malcolm is going to die thinking Jacob is dead and then Jacob will eventually realize that his brother who he thought was fine actually died? And Evie will be stuck with a cursed baby?

... yeah, you pretty much got the jist of it. For maximum drama it's probably Evie who'll have to break the news to Jacob if / when she returns to Cliffside... at which point Jacob's curse will probably trigger.

Tragi-epic? You bet your ass.

But you could still save Malcolm! With a...card thingy or something! Right? You have cards that do stuff?

I like tragi-epics but I want the characters to go through hell and then emerge happy if scarred. This is why I tell myself that Supernatural will end with Sam and Dean buying houses next door to each other and their kids will be friends and Sam will have a kid just like Dean and adult Dean will be like "haha now it's your turn to raise an impossible child." Also John will come back from the dead in a non-zombie way and they will all go eat ice cream together and buy everyone puppies. That's definitely how the apocalypse ends. Yup.

Um... Jacob has cards that do stuff, because he is a Huckster. Jacob who everyone thinks is dead, who is slumming it in Cliffside because he thinks Malcom might be dead (else he would have come back for him, right?) and Evie, who he was considering giving up his randy ways for since his near death experience, is left without either of the brothers Forge to protect her ( ... )
