I do not actually celebrate Poetry Month -- if you do, I highly recommend friending lysimache, as she has been very excited for weeks about Poetry Month (seriously, she has spreadsheets here), and she says she will be posting one poem per day. She is also generally awesome.

I would, however, like to share just one poem. I think lysimache posted it when she did this

What a great poem to start off Poetry Month!

EEEE MY LITTLE PONY! I have never seen the show but I had a unicorn pony as a kid and I loved it so much!

Although they lack that poem's certain je ne sais quoi, this and this are my favorite go-to body part poems. (And, wow, I just realized I've actually seen the whole VHS recording of various poets from which that Lucille Clifton clip came, in a college poetry class. I recognize the font used for her name!)
