I made it through three episodes of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and I think that's all I can take. Sorry, fandom. I tried. It is just so bad. Not even scantily-clad Lucy Lawless is enough to make me keep watching

Ha :D Did you see the Love Game vid to Spartacus? If you watch that, you don't need to see the rest! It actually *does* get better, but not historically accurate or language accurate in any way. Storyline better.

The badness of the story is pretty much what's making me not watch this; I wasn't going to watch it for period accuracy or anything. But I just can't bring myself to care about any of the characters.

The characters aren't exactly nice, no. Spartacus doesn't have much of a presence in the series; he's ... vague. It's more about the characters around him than he himself, which is good seeing as he's so one-dimensional.

Seriously. For a show with several scenes in which Lucy Lawless is wearing absolutely nothing, one ought to be able to at least stand the rest of the plot. Sigh.

Yeah. It was way bad. I suffered through in hopes that it would improve, but, alas, it did not.

I think it's something I would need to watch and laugh at with someone else. By myself, it just made me annoyed.

IIRC runaway slaves could be branded (I think) with F or sometimes FVG (both abbreviating that), but not with letters that did not exist. :)
