This is why I want to be an aerospace engineer.

Really, I should be studying astronomy, but whatever.

I hear you. My plan is aerospace engineering at MIT, then astrophysics at Caltech. Really, these days you can't have one without the other.

Yes! Astrophysics at Caltech would be totally awesome, especially since they run JPL and all. :D

I've heard from various sources that Caltech has the best undergrad and grad program for astrophysics. I almost went there instead of MIT, but I'm thinking about them for grad school.

Half the pictures in one of my astronomy books come from Caltech. It would be cool to go there. Except for the fact that we're better hackers.

Yes, plus we're cooler and undoubtedly have hotter (and more) women.
I dunno, Caltech didn't seem like a very promising place to go for undergrad stuff. It's very grad school oriented, you know?
BTW, I'm getting really excited about my laptop now, so you must tell me about yours so I can be vicariously excited.

I'd second the vote, except for teeny, insignificant detail..... For all practical purposes, there is no job market for aerospace engineers and you'll end up like

this guy.

oh, dash practicality, there's more than enough of that to go around!

Ah, you see the thing about engineering is that you can study aerospace and do mechanical and vice versa. It's really about a set of skills.
Btw, aerospace engineers can work for: airline companies, space agencies, defence companies (hello, Lockheed Martin!) and also, bizarrely enough, the sporting industry.
They can probably make boats, too.
Besides, Steffi is totally the bread-winner anyway.
You know, I'm doomed to working for Republicans. If I do aerospace I'll build missiles, if I do mechanical I'll build cars for rich people, if I do chemical engineering I'll work for oil companies. Hurray!
