This is why I want to be an aerospace engineer.

Really, I should be studying astronomy, but whatever.

I hear you. My plan is aerospace engineering at MIT, then astrophysics at Caltech. Really, these days you can't have one without the other.

Yes! Astrophysics at Caltech would be totally awesome, especially since they run JPL and all. :D

I've heard from various sources that Caltech has the best undergrad and grad program for astrophysics. I almost went there instead of MIT, but I'm thinking about them for grad school.

Half the pictures in one of my astronomy books come from Caltech. It would be cool to go there. Except for the fact that we're better hackers.

Yes, plus we're cooler and undoubtedly have hotter (and more) women.
I dunno, Caltech didn't seem like a very promising place to go for undergrad stuff. It's very grad school oriented, you know?
BTW, I'm getting really excited about my laptop now, so you must tell me about yours so I can be vicariously excited.

*sobs* I don't know what kind of laptop to get! I keep looking at websites and then going to other websites, then asking people what they think and getting confused all over again!

"All the cool kids have Macs!"

"Pish tosh, get an HP/compaq! Very nice, those are."

"Mac, I say! Mac!"

Me: "Um, I'm happy with my Dell..."

*laughter at my expense*

I need to actually use the compy for a few days, you know? I've never touched any of these other computers, so I'm a little anxious about them.

Hm, if you're happy with your Dell and you have no issues with Dell customer service, then you probably shouldn't worry about it too much, check out the MIT recommeded Dell laptops.
Also? Macs are known to have incompatiblities with the MIT network, so if you want to avoid grief avoid the Macs. I promise I'll still think you're cool. :D
I'm getting one of the recommended IBM's myself, because I looked at a gazillion laptops, liked about three of them and the best deal happened to be that one.
You should really try to buy your laptop through MIT, though, you get 3 year warranty for free which would otherwise cost 200-300 dollars.

Well, my current one isn't on their list, it's kind of ancient. I guess I'm just having separation anxiety.
