lowering the polycount

Sep 06, 2010 11:09

This morning I am on a mission to rid my game of all the super high-poly hairs (+10,000) that I've downloaded over the last few months. This has left me with almost NO coolsims hairs, alas, but honestly, those are probably the worst offenders. His hairs are very pretty, but I almost NEVER put them on a sim anyway because I know just how high poly they usually are. So if I'm not going to use them anyway, why keep them in game?

Now I have a bunch of newsea and peggy hairs I'm squinting at, trying to figure out if they breach the 10,000 poly mark. I wish there were a website that kept track of the polycounts on new hairs, but all the sites that used to do that don't seem to be current anymore. I guess no one cares about polys, eh? Well, I do! I was thinking of making a request post at GoS to have some of older hairs that I like pookleted. The problem, of course, is that I don't want to make a request until I am absolutely sure that the hair hasn't already been pookleted somewhere.

Here's my list of hairs I'd like to see pook'd (I found almost all of these on Selzi's site):

Peggy M00464...I think. Who can really follow her numbering system?
Simplystella emo hair
Peggy F04423
Rose F0048
Rose F0071: Agggh I want a pook'd version of this hair (doesn't have to have this alpha) so badly!
Peggy F03621
Coolsims F29: Coolsims hair of quite low polycount, but can't find a pook'd recolor of it anywhere.

I'm sure there's more...those are just the ones coming to me right now.
