Question: Can't find broken downloads

May 26, 2012 09:06

I recently downloaded a few custom couches and now my game crashes when I click on custom objects in the comfort/sofas section. I tried to find the broken file with the 50/50 method but the Games doesn't crash until I put all my cc in >> anyone knows how to deal with this issue?

glitches, custom content, crashing, 50/50, sims 2

Do you mean you ran the game with half your downloads, then the other half, and then it crashed when you put everything in together? Sometimes the 50/50 method requires a much finer-toothed comb than that. How well organized are your downloads? Can you pull out just the seating section (or the furniture section or the buy section or however you can break it down) and start going through that 50/50? Are your hacks separate? There may be some conflict there. Pull those out separately and see if you can run the game.

Basically, you've got something conflicting with a couch, and (assuming you need to have the new ones that started causing the conflicts), you're going to have to keep separating out your files and testing until you find the problem file.

It's very possible that you have two custom couches conflicting with each other, and somehow, they ended up on different sides of the 50/50 split. I'd say try using Delphy's Download Organizer. While it doesn't always work perfectly for everyone, it should be able to detect conflicting objects. I think.
