Firefighter - "trapped sims" inside inaccessible apartments

I'm currently playing a level 10 firefighter and she got an emergency call to a large house fire in an apartment building. She was supposed to put out the fire, which she did, and save 4 trapped sims. She managed to save 1, who happened to be outside, but the other 3 seem to be inside the inaccessible apartments. She rings the doorbell, the game

I did try resetting them and it just threw them back into the inaccessible apartments and I still could not get to them. Because the apartments are inaccessible (ie. the blacked out ones), resetting them does nothing other than make them even more inaccessible.

If it happens again, I will try moving them around using moveobjects on. I think I just need to make a habit of saving before she goes to work at noon. I usually save at 6am. So I simply went back to the last save and she got a different job next time, which she was able to successfully complete.

This exact same thing happened to me tonight and I immediately thought of this post. :/ SO FRUSTRATING. I reset the lot and that didn't work. I didn't save, so if he gets that emergency again, I think I'm going to take the drastic measure of taking those apartments out of the town.

At least now I know it's not just me but a genuine game bug. I'll report it in the official bug report thread and I guess we'll just have to wait and see if EA do anything about it in the next patch.
