i am driving myself absolutely crazy.  i cant stop thinking about him.  i went thru my old LJ, reading entries from early 2003 when he and i were in love... scouring the internet for pictures of him, which i eventually found. when i saw his face my heart broke.  now i am sitting here paralyzed by the knowledge that i let him go.

i dreamed about him ( Read more... )

you women are the complete opposite of men. You guys think of all the guys you missed out on once your single. Men, we think about all the pussy we missed out on/passed up/fumbled once we're all in a long term relationship. We sit around and ponder how many girls we think we could be hooking up with even though we're perfectly happy with the one we're with. You're a female, who is cute and fun and young. You need to go get out there and stop wondering what happened to so and so from way back when. If its right, your paths will cross again, and again. In the meantime, start walking down some new path on your own, since you're not all stuck all anchored down to some boy anymore! Go! GO!

When Pat and I broke up for a few months, I think I thought a lot about the guy I had seen a few years earlier when Pat was away. Even though I knew that it would've never, ever worked out, I think I still called him again the next time he was in town, though it obviously didn't go anywhere. I also used those memories to fuel some pretty hateful things that I said to Pat when we broke up... which I regret having done/said more than anything now, though he never mentions it.

Don't know if it'll help your peace of mind, but I'd assume the person you dwell over is only married to a cause, at least from what I've heard about his work as an activist in recent years.

thanks, KT. i have been reading about various things he's done, and i cant help but be more amazed and in awe of him.

this feeling i have will fade again over time, it comes and goes in waves over the years.

i just find it incredible that the wound feels as fresh as it ever has, almost half a decade later.

thanks again for your words! ill see you in like 9 days!
loveyou
Nicole

Hey there... Just wanted to let you know that my brother does indeed have an amazing girlfriend, and they are very happy together. I've hung out with her as well and we keep in touch and she is pretty awesome (she is a scientist and an activist)... Sorry I haven't responded to your email yet, things have been pretty crazy with the fam and otherwise. I'm catching up on tons of correspondence from the last few months but I promise to write soon. Take care!! x
