I know I'm being lazy and should read back but where is Connie from?

St Louis, MO, USA.

Yep, I rag on the Yanks all the time, but I'm married to one! Proves I don't mean it...

Actually, my better half is pretty much from all over the place because she's an army brat! Her mother was German and she was raised in Heidelberg for her formative years, only going to the states when she was twelve I think. That's partly why she feels at home here, because she's always been European at heart!

But when I met her, she was living in her father's home town...

You're welcome, Vonnie.

And hey, it beats direct sales. That was a lot of work for no where near enough money. At least with this job I get paid!

Well we all know how dodgy the so called telephone network in the UK can be :-"

=)) couldn't resist

Hope things go as smoothly as you think they should regarding her permanent UK residency. You already probably know this but as long as Connie does not OUTRIGHT give up her US citizenship... i.e. come straight out and tell the US she is giving it up, she does not lose it

I know. Actually, she's not applying for citizenship here, just permanent residency. She will remain a legal Extra terrestrial alien for as long as she likes. I think it is possible to have dual nationality here, because US citizens have sworn an oath of allegiance and it would be unconstitutional in the UK to insist someone break an oath! Not sure about that though. I'll have to check.

Am pretty sure you can have dual nationality. I know at least from our side you can

Uhuh... I remember reading somewhere that in order to become a US citizen, you had to renounce all other nationalities, but that was a long time ago, and I imagine there are plenty of exceptions even if it is still enforced sometimes. And of course I could be completely mistaken. I have heard of people having dual citizenship, so it must be possible...

Yes. In sales busy is definitely good. I know I don't comment on the work posts much but it is nice to read about someone who is happy in a job where business is good for a change of pace. Hope the season is a profitable one!

Thanks, so do I...

The job has it's moments, good bits and bad bits but on the whole I'm enjoying it.

And I don't often comment on posts about work either... For that matter I don't post that much about work any more!

Okay, to save you reading through my entire LJ hunting for the story, here is the first post about Connie and I.

It was posted before tags were available on LJ, so I'm going back over the posts. tag-linking them to make the story easier to follow...
