Rearange the following words into a well know phrase or saying:
Feet, Off, Rushed, My.
It has been one of those Saturdays today. Working retail you sort of expect it, but the last few weeks have been pretty quiet. Today - the first Saturday in September, with the kids back at school - it seems everyone is starting to think about getting their fireplaces done.
Last Saturday was almost dead. Today we had about an hour in total, scattered in five minute slots throughout the day, when there were no customers in the shop! In fact, the first customers arrived before we were even open. It was at that point I predicted (correctly) that it was going to be busy!
Mind you, busy is good: Busy means sales, which means money coming in which means I get to keep my job for another month!
In other news:
Connie is applying for her permanent UK residency. It should be just a formality, send in the form and get it rubber-stamped. We meet all the criteria, after all. But you can never really tell with these things.
On the house move front, we're still waiting for references to be sent to the agency from various people. Our current landlord is coming by to inspect the place on Wednesday. Connie is taking the day off, to make sure he knows that the place is in as good a condition as it can be considering his lack of maintenance on it!
That's pretty much it except to say Happy Birthday to
trekchic and
blufuzyduk80.
And to congratulate LJ for finally realising that there is a telephone network in the UK!
