A quick apology to everyone: life has been very busy over the past two months, and I've been useless at keeping in touch. This is pathetic but - what are you supposed to do on a relaxing night in? I've been so busy this last week that I haven't had any time not doing anything (combination of job applications, interviews and volunteering 9-5) and am short on sleep. Now is my first night off, and I can't think of anything to do! I was going to go for a run or to the gym ( Read more... ) -

I have had it with the people next door. I'm trying to work in my room at the moment - and I don't think that's unreasonable, because, you know, I want to work in here sometimes - and they are playing fifa and shouting so, so much. I am very tired. It took two and a half hours for us to remove everything except the shelves from the archive, go through pretty much all of it, throw lots away, and put it back in. It now looks amazing - there's an impressive amount of space in that cupboard ( Read more... ) -

Just heard from the Guardian today - no luck with that application. I know I shouldn't get attached to individual applications, and the chances of getting any of them are pretty random, but it would have been awesome. Weekend was lovely with ceilidhs and concerts even though I didn't have time to go to them, and now it's back to trying to learn EVERYTHING. Why is there so much of history? Ridiculous subject.

I would be quite content if this weather lasted forever. Last week and this one have just been beautiful. Long walks in the sun, and barbecues, and actually getting work done: if all of Trinity like this, I might just enjoy myself. -

I complained about not getting to celebrate, but had completely forgotten that I was going to formal hall with lots of people from college.

good probably more important than bad in the long term
The good news: the dissertation is almost done! I wrote the last major part that needed to be written (a short conclusion) just before midnight, and it's just been sent off to my supervisor to check it's ok now. Footnotes are done, formatting is pretty much done, and the major work of the editing is done. There are a couple of sentences I still ( Read more... )
