Yup, Tommy's relationship and trust issues definitely come from this awful experience, although you'll notice in the next update (when he'll finally transition) that despite everything, he didn't grow up as badly as one could imagine.
Thanks! :) I didn't want to "narrate" the murder scene, because my weak point when I write are precisely to describe action scenes, so I just wanted to let the pics tell the story. Though I'll admit it was harder than I expected, because the game doesn't let you fight with children and pregnant sim (obviously, thank goodness!), but the animation boxes I have don't work on community lots.
Bianca is alive, for sure. And yup, you'll get to see her in the future, although not until *at least* Tom and Ed become adults.
Wow, so sad and dark. I liked this twist but feel really bad for Tim and Tom and the rest of the Brokes. :( Especially seeing how Tom turned out as a teen because of his guilt and anger.
Can I ask what made you decide to go this route, story wise?
Honestly I found it hard to believe that Rose Mary and Buck would ever get together again. What he did was aweful and though I can understand his feelings on why he had to leave I think that him wanting to be part of that again was too... easy. I can see how he would except them but not want to be part of them.
Will we ever see what ever happened to Bianca? And who where the ones that attacked/saved Tom? So many questions!
ARGH! Forgot to add: I loved, loved, LOVED the shots where Tommy's waking up in the hospital and is starting to remember what happend. Great job.
I admit I was (still am) a bit hesitant to follow this route, since this is the "darkest" thing I've ever written. But be sure there is a reason behind this twist, and this might be the beginning of the Broke's path to discover the truth behind Cosmo and Olive's relationship, for example
( ... )
Oh I would hope not that you won't stay with this dark tone for the rest of the legacy, I like your style too, but it was a nice twist to keep things going. I also figured it may help with the whole Olive/Cosmo truth. :D
Yeah, I noticed that they where two different aliens, the one that attacked and the one that resuced. I just lumped them into one because I was so tired last night while reading.
I liked that Buck and Rosie got back together and you're right two years and a MAJOR wakeup call is more than enough to make someone realize, " I love them too much to be away from them"
SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT UPDATE!!
WAIT! I just looked back and I think that it was Hobbes?! That saved Tommy? Aww.
Well, sometimes you need to do a "bad" things to your characters to keep things moving. I guess that's the reason there are so many "Random Scenarios" and "Disaster Generators" are there for sim players, to break the monotony in their games.
I've often played with the idea of using one of those in another legacy or story, though. For the Brokes, I have figured out what'll happen more or less until Gen 7. The rest is still a mystery to me! :D
(Yup, Hobbes saved Tommy. ANd because I can't keep my mouth shut, I'll remind you that he was expelled from the Pollination Tech team back when he helped Calvin and Ripp escape, so he's obviously part of a new alien team. Of course, the other members of the team and their mission will be revealed later)
I'm glad you're still enjoying the story. I'm working on the next update at the moment (for once I'm inspired when I actually have the free time to play) so I hope to have it ready very soon.
Marshaaaaaaa no! Poor Tommy! No wonder he's so messed up, witnessing his own mother's death. Witnessing a death as a child really is something, I hope he's not as traumatized(disturbed?) as he could be.
I love that you used the "tantrum" action for when he found out about the death, though. It was very nice. :)
Rosie and Buck are too cute together. They make me melt. Kissing under the stars, such a beautiful shot! I really love how strong Rosie is, she's lovely.
Back to Tommy, they ninjas were there to take him to teach him the...ways of ninjas, yes? Ninjas are mean and I don't like them. *pouts like a little girl* MAKE THEM LEEEEAVE!
Tommy was deeply traumatized after this experience, of course. As you could see in the previous update, he has serious relationship issues and is pretty much a loner, but other than that, he's a well adjusted guy. He still had his father and Grandparents to raise him, plus the teachers his mother left him.
Hee, I was so pissed when I realized Squinge's desperation enabled hack didn't include crying for children (and my animation boxes don't work on community lots. And I also wasn't able to make him sleep there! :S), but then I noticed the tantrum made it look as if he was trying to push Tim, so it worked very nice in the end. Thanks :)
Yeah, I was so sad when I had to break them apart for the story, 'cause they both had awful memories. Rosie was pissed and kept kicking Buck's trashcan too :P But once they were on good terms again, ACR would leave me alone! So many "booty calls" all the time!
Are you sure the guys who killed Marsha were real ninjas? Or that it was him the one these guys were after? ;)
Well, there are calm times coming up for the family, at least until the Gen 5 kids reach adulthood. I think I've surpassed my drama allowance for this generation!

I can't even... I... just... wow. So heartbreaking! Poor everybody! Poor Tim, poor Tommy... man, no wonder he's got so many issues as a teenager.
This update was extremely "well-acted" so to speak. :P Such amazing shots!
Hmm, why do I get the feeling we'll see Bianca again someday?
