So what's going on with me?

First of all, the kittens are on their way to becoming cats. They've basically doubled in size since we first got them, and are probably now too big for their first scratching post. They've now got another one, a three-story monstrosity that includes a hidey hole ( Read more... )

It'll be back soon enough. Probably before easter... (or at least I'll be George Michael Stubbly by then)

Kittens are Bowie and Bjorn. We can't tell which is which as they're both gingers and both marked, as far as we can tell, identiclaly. The alterntive, of dabbing one with a bit of food dye somewhere so we can have a spot to tell them apart, is something Ben's not going with.

Welcome to our world.
They'll keep growing, our two did for about 20mths - we have four scratching posts, each one twice the size of the one before it seems, dotted around the house. Expensive buggers aren't they! Ours are 3yrs old in a couple of months and they still wrestle every day...and the chasing is even more perilous/frantic now than it was in the beginning.

We waited until they were 2 before putting collars on - not least because they were still growing but they could still wriggle out of them. When we finally put them on, they wriggled but got used to them in a couple of hours tops. Persistence is the key!

As for knocking stuff off - we've only just started putting things back on shelves but they still get knocked over so anything vaguely valuable is still tucked out of site until they're old and infirm and can do no more damage!

When are you gents up in Sydney next??

Up in Sydney Good Friday (I have theatre stuff that night, then Saturdaya and Sunday spent in Wollongong as my brother's bringing across my niece from Adelaide. I expect to spoil her rotten).

I'm assuming your cats still also nibble on the ankles?

There's no unsolicited nibbling in our house anymore. They do attack our feet but only when we go ninja-stylee on their furry asses by attacking them first. But even when we're rough-housing them, they're always careful with claws and teeth - like they know to gently bite or hold onto us.

Well JR has Good Friday and Gooder Saturday off (for once) so if you happen to be around for a coffee, would be good to catch up even if only for an hour.
