Asian Sim Sites Wank -- simsple

A few weeks ago, there was the Daum/Naver fiasco, with lots of flailing and accusations of racism and xenophobia.  It all led to the creation of DMBD.

Last night,  a Kindergoth named Magenta posted a thread at GoS with a Simsecret-like image.  Confusing, no?  It was a response the purge of several non-Korean members.  Turns out awhile before, before ( Read more... )

The best part will be when they come in their hundreds and flame torch GoS (who they'll associate this all with because of the previous fiasco) and well, thats about it. I doubt they know about Viva La Butthurt and won't till someone rubs it in their faces...and then the real drama starts *WOOT*

Actually, simsple cafe admin, mods and resident creators DO know about DMBD. They were aware of its existence even before this recent fiasco. At first, I thought that banning all foreign accounts was done as a direct retaliation to DMBD. Turned out that it was not DMBD but Afterlight's level-up guide that galvanized them into adopting such extreme xenophobic measures. At that time, simsple cafe was relatively safe from DMBD, as it wasn't a primary target.

They just don't know who the hell runs DMBD. Ssiris even expressed her hope to talk DMBD owner into taking down their stuff. Though it seems that she gave up her hope after reading Sizz's comments.

Simsple cafe will not accept new members until 2009. Looks like they're waiting for drama to die down. By denying new members (and potential spies) for 3 months, they're hoping that they can get off DMBD's radar.

Didn't you say at PMBD that ssiris thought I ran DMBD?

Also I really don't think the 3 months of being closed to new members thing will work. They've shown far too well what bullies they are someone's going to want to get in just to annoy them.

They are afraid that once their stuff ends up in GoS, it'll become an easy prey to thieves who will change file names and claim it as their own creation. (Further explanation in this thread.) Apparently making Sims toys is Serious Business for them.

This simsple cafe is much more hardcore than EASims cafe (the first bunch who attacked GoS), although both are located inside Daum.
No wonder their admin is so much bitchier. The way they treated Afterlight is disgusting. Just take a look at this crap, poor English is no excuse. Not even a single "please"?

(I think it was this thread in which they denied sharing pay stuff. That was their first direct contact with GoS.)

Honestly, with the ridiculous threats and the huge amounts of drama these people create to "protect" their precious sim files, you'd think their stuff is actually the Holy Grail of custom content quality or something "awesome enough" to fix every single bug in the games ( ... )

Yeah, exactly. Like how pay content used to be a mark of status before the booty.

I'm not a big fan of the Daum stuff; it's a little too photo-y for me. But these guys were always assholes - now they're just passive-aggressive assholes. This bullshit about "we're sorry! We actually like foreigners!" is really transparent. I almost want to download that stuff, but I don't actually like very much of it (though I think I saw some OK male outfits somewhere).

Is GoS down for other people right now? I need my fix :(
