This past weekend, I attended a fantasy studies and Tolkien studies conference, Mythmoot II. I come back bearing information that might be of interest to some of our members here!

First of all, the Mythgard Institute will be hosting a free (yes, FREE!) course about Unfinished Tales. The course will be taught by the Tolkien Professor Corey Olsen. (

Oh, that book sounds fascinating! I'm eagerly awaiting it. And hopefully someone does the Spiritual Quest in a Scientific Age one, which sounds fascinating to me, depending on what angle they come at it from (I'm obviously biased towards an anthropological one, but that's sadly not one of the specified disciplines...history could still be very interesting to come at it from).

I wish I was actually qualified to try writing anything...
