In my post about Fingolfin I wondered why he gave Dor-lómin to Hador, and ithilwen pointed out that it looked like a plot bunny, so I'm writing some drabbles about it. Here's the first.

Rating: General

LOL! Yeah, I was wondering about that myself this morning while I was reading the chapter "Nirnaeth Arnoediad" from the Silm. What was going on between Fingolfin and Hador anyway? Oh, I dunno...maybe I've been visiting Elffetish too much lately. (Oh, and btw, thanks for the fic rec on "Never Speak Nor Sing" by Claudio. You are right, it is very dark, but perfect for keeping on one's nightstand in case one wakes in middle of night and can't get back to sleep.)

Fingolfin will be explaining himself in a future double drabble, probably the third in the series.

'Never Speak Nor Sing' is totally not the way I picture any of the Silm characters, but it's strangely compelling! I think I might actually like it better than Claudio's Elladan humour fics that you told me about.

Yes, I agree that "Never Speak Nor Sing" is compelling stuff. I think the reason I keep it at bedside is so that I can protect poor Glorfindel somehow. Oh, btw, have you read "Flawed and Fair" and "Strange Fortunes" by Tehta? (On FF.Net and HASA too, I believe.)

It's rather like watching a train crash happen in slow motion. He really does put the worst possible spin on Fingon's and Fingolfin's characters, but I still feel sympathetic towards Fingon, though not Fingolfin, which is odd when they are equally bad.

have you read "Flawed and Fair" and "Strange Fortunes" by Tehta?

No, I haven't, but they look interesting. I'll read them this weekend!

Whahahahaha!

"Only by the Fëanorians," snapped Fingolfin, "because you pulled their collective fat out of the fire at Alqualondë!"

This is great! You write evil!humor so well :)

*is looking forward to Part 2*

Btw, currently my mind is in the gutter with Jenni's regarding the reason. Go figure. ;-P

Thanks! Fingolfin is being awkward and won't say what happened until part four now.

Never give your child an epesse, whether in irritatoin about overblown ego or money for psychatric treatment, they always seem to come back to haunt.

Fingon as the petulant prince is priceless. This was very clever.
