So, I've been going through my epic tape collection... which someday I will burn to CD, goddamnit, and wondering how obscure my tastes actually are.

My all-goth-all-the-time phase was kind of short-lived, but I still enjoy some of those a lot. :D Especially Skinny Puppy and Christian Death (though I don't have Skeleton Kiss anymore for some reason).

Did you like Mephisto Waltz? I'm kind of blah about them and don't even remember why I had any of their music.

Gotta admit, I still like me some Mephisto Walz. It's just kind of the traditional goth sound to me. Not everything, but I seriously still love Alle in Asche:

and this one totally makes me want to put on a corset & dance:

Ah, this brings back memories of the "Goth/Industrial" section at Streetlight Records in San Jose. I used to flip through the CDs in that section over and over again. I don't own any of this now, except Skinny Puppy. I think that's probably the most recognizable name on this list, that or Sisters of Mercy. Also, I was always irritated that Mephisto Walz spelled their name without the "t." heh

Ah, this brings back memories of the "Goth/Industrial" section at Streetlight Records in San Jose.I loved the North CA scene, though I only made it to San Joe once and mostly visited San Fran. So much more laid back than LA, and they birthed awesome things like Switchblade Symphony when I had started to think that nothing good was still being made in the 90's.

omg, they really didn't?! I'd forgotten that, and thought it was a typo. That's fucking hilarious.
