incoherent spoilers! day of the moon

May 01, 2011 19:48

Obviously, yesterday I watched Day of the Moon. Last week I had decided to do a re-watching The Impossible Astronaut immediately before the new ep because, well, two-parters are supposed to be seen as one single long episode imho. Hence why I subjected Lookalike to last week's ep and to DotM in a row. :)

nothing can penetrate these walls )

the best is yet to come, doctor who, review, river song is awesome, time-travel breaks my brain

I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one who's not "OMG TIME LORD BABY HOW AWESOME!!!" My brain didn't even actually go there, initially, I assumed there's a bigger time loop happening than we thought and that she shot the Doctor to absorb his own regeneration energy and steal the power that way. Sort of similar to Doctor-Donna?

I mean, it would be awesome, but... let's get real. The Moff likes to play with our minds, and he's got a kid on his side to give him real-time feedback! I like the Doctor-Donna idea, especially 'cause that would be so the Doctor - to give his energy to save a child. Awwww

I SHOULD BE WRITING ESSAYS! THAT'S WHAT I SHOULD BE DOING!

But anyways, yeah, the problem with River is that Alex Kingston lives in the U.S. isn't it? So it was all cool and dandy for the opening episodes, but the rest of the show needs to go on without her. Maybe... young!River?

My family looooves Amy, but I would be okay with her and Rory's exit being, you know, in the autumn because so much has revolved around them that fresh blood will be needed soon-ish.

I don't know, pregnancy is such a big thing to have to explain to kids. It's also a bit too gender-specific. We'll see.

Omg my head is going to explode if I try to understand that end part!! Moffat is a mad man lol.Idk if she's the Doctor's daughter because he did already have a daughter in one David Tennant ep and Idk if they would use that over again... But I really have no clue. That episode was amazing and I'm dying for more!

And I totally agree about there being more to River Song than being the Doc's wife. Also can I just say that kiss scene was amazing and extremely sad at the same time. :( :)

I think the point was that in the end: we're dying for more and they know it! Like, the wedding dress at the end of TEH, or Amy's "marital status" in TBB, kept us guessing, didn't it? And it was easy, and yet it was not when it came to the finale.

I feel like they're winking at us, with little innuendoes that we're supposed to misinterpret.

Oh that kiss... It makes me so sad to think that the next time she'll be seeing him, he'll be too worried about the TARDIS exploding to notice. *bawls*

I knoww! ohgkhlgkhjuh! It's insane. This really is my first time properly watching Doc who eps as they air though since I'm pretty new to the show and fandom. I watched S5 on netflix so I'm not used to waiting so long for new eps. *pout*

I can't even...*cries*

^^ Me too. Last year I began watching after ToA so this waiting and dying to know more is killing me! It's a good fandom, very much varied, though I can't help but always feel a complete newbie. Listening to podcasts helps, at times.

Ooooooooh. I like your theory! And the bit about Rory, which I had forgotten about until just now, makes so much sense. So you're saying Rory is in the spacesuit? Or future!Rory at any rate.

I've read some theories that she is his daughter which I think isn't quite right.

Yeeeeah, it'd make the flirting and kissing a bit WRONG if that was right. No, thanks.
