Obviously, yesterday I watched Day of the Moon. Last week I had decided to do a re-watching The Impossible Astronaut immediately before the new ep because, well, two-parters are supposed to be seen as one single long episode imho. Hence why I subjected Lookalike to last week's ep and to DotM in a row. :)
WTF WAS THAT AT THE END?!? I think I flailed for some very long minutes and my mouth was probably hanging open the whole time. I can see what the show (*coughMoffatcough*) is trying to make me think, BUT!
My thoughts on the new series, discounting the last ten seconds of DotM, are basically an agglomeration of squees of delight and gasps of excitement. The U.S. never looked more beautiful, and watching the Confidential was just precious. LOL at Karen and Arthur and their little trip down Monument Valley!
My mind is still reeling about the Doctor getting killed, though again I think I am supposed to be shocked and terrified that we haven't solved the problem. Am I also supposed to think that there's more to it? These are the days when I wish I was Joshua's (Moffat's son) school teacher. :P
River and the Doctor! Lookalike is stubbornly on the she's-the-wife bandwagon, but I refuse to believe things are that simple. Does River's character look simple? Does anything look simple with series 6a/32? It bloodily well doesn't! There's already a married couple on the TARDIS, it will just turn the kids away if the show ends up with not one but two grown-ups all kissy kissy.
And what about the girl?!? Even Karen called it "regeneration" in the Confidential, and yet how can that be? If she's Amy and Rory's baby (as the picture is clearly meant to put that thought in our minds), then she's human. Period. Time-head talk aside, when in the world would she have acquired Time Lord's skills? I've seen a bad episode of the New Adventures of Superman along these lines and I find it lame. I mean, Amy's Schrodinger's Pregnancy is suspicious on its own... like her baby is in flux, and could it be because the girl is regenerating as they speak? She exists and yet doesn't?
Now if she's the Doctor's baby, that makes even less sense though 'cause where did she come from? It would maybe explain why the Silence deemed her of any importance, as River said that a Time Lord's body is a miracle that everyone wants to get their hands on. Still, it's a bit far-fetched methinks.
She could also be, well, a random kid that the Troublesome Foursome meet later on. Like, they help with the delivery (cue Amy's picture), they leave her at the Orphanage but promise to come back as soon as they can to pick her up (cue TEH-plot-device when 5mins become 12years). Hm? HM?
Lookalike had a better theory, but he's not here to remind me the details right now so my ramblings will have to do! :)
And to think we have to wait WEEKS for more info now!
