URGH HORROR. o.O I try to be open-minded about all genres of book or film, but real, 18-rated horror is something I've never been quite able to stomach.

I have done the exact same thing! I was at a sleepover and I specifically asked (nicely) if they wouldn't watch a horror film because I really couldn't take it, but they watched one anyway. So I went and sat elsewhere with a book too! XD

I just do NOT get a kick out of being scared, and do not see amusement value in huge gross massacres. I think those real, old-fashioned horror movies that aren't actually that scary I could do, because they're so OLD and I love old movies; like, siitng watching them with popcorn and your friends. But not if they were too scary. I hate being scared.

LMAO go you! I said I was just going to get a book, then sat reading until they'd finished XD

Hah, this is what LJ is good for - FINDING LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE. *beams* ♥

I hate being scared too. :/ I'm usually okay with scary films at the time, but then a few hours later when I'm trying to sleep my mind just goes haywire so I try to avoid them all completely. XD

And hee, Happy Birthday for tomorrow! ;)

I AM SO WITH YOU. Granted as of about ten days ago I'm no longer a teenager, but yeah, I have always despised horror.

Aside from in books, oddly.

LMAO Happy bday for 10 days ago! It's my 18th tomorrow :D

Books are slightly different I find as well. But I would still avoid horror books XD

I don't mind horror myself, but I know plenty of people who refuse to even contemplate watching scary movies. When I was at uni in Leicester, my friend Jamie was the only one out of the four people I lived with who'd watch that kinda stuff with me. The girls all had their individual tastes - Cassie liked romances, Emma liked Disney and vampirey stuff, and Hazel liked dramas and world cinema like Pan's Labyrinth (which I also happen to love), but horror and adventure and general geekiness were always mine and Jamie's thing. :)

Aww, it's so lovely you remember all that; I'm so excited about uni. And that you have a special friend you can share specifically that stuff with :)

Yeah, Jamie's awesome. :) He always takes care of me on nights out, and tells me how nice I look beforehand, or which shoes to change into and what jewellery to accessorise with. (He's gay.) But just generally, he's the one person I can geek out over stuff with, without feeling like a loser.

Really? I LOVE horror. You should try and ease into it by watching really BAD horror, like Rock and Roll Nightmare or Sleepaway Camp, but of which are so bad they're hilarious. Rock and Roll Nightmare is about Satan, but his minions are SOCK PUPPETS.
