To be honest, I still don"t know how to describe this recent road trip. I used to call my show excursions "sprees" but they stopped being that a long time ago: now I want transformation when I hit the road. I want magic as well as music. And I usually get it. But it isn"t always pretty. It isn"t always shiny ( Read more... )

Even as a kid, conformity for conformity's sake seemed like death to me -- you have to be who you truly are, even if that means you stick out like a sore thumb. And that was one of the first things I loved about My Chem, too, that they got that, that they celebrated it. :)

SO glad you heard our violinist! Maybe next time you'll meet the trombone player.

It was only for a moment, but it made me smile...it was like unlocking some hidden NYC achievement. :)

We are all weak, and we are all strong. And because we're human beings, we're stronger in a pack together than all alone. I'm glad to hear there will be fellowship in your new life, because that's what keeps us sane.

I wish I could go home and knit. Next time, I'm bringing three different projects, in case I lose one. Grr.

I have a hard time in groups, usually. I'm half & half, social and outcast all at once. That's why this trip really made such an impact on me -- I ran away but you guys all still liked me when I came back. ♥

And seriously, the image of you sitting there knitting is the most Killjoy thing ever. :)

Whee! Knitting needles make some noise! :D

I'm almost done with a sock at work. I have to work on a shawl when I get home. And I have some scarves I want to do, not to mention the socks for all the guys...

(I'm the same way in groups. I need to run away and have my alone time. Which is one reason I knit, so I can have a solitary activity to occupy me in a social situation.)

Yeah, I've had stressful times on trips before, and I've had emotional crashes...but I had never had one actually at a show. That was a new one. But, in a way, that's part of what made this trip so special, too. Weird.

I still feel like I should be going to shows with you! Hafta figure out a way to be bi-coastal, I guess. :)
