Last night I was tired from a business trip and the aftermath of a migraine the day before, and toying very very vaguely with the idea of maybe, just maybe, waiting until the next day to watch SPN.

And then I got an email from varadia that said, basically, "WATCH THIS LIVE IF YOU CAN."

So I did.

I need to rewatch this. For some reason I was in an odd, down mood and thought gah parents, this will break my heart and ran away.

Clearly I need to watch it again.

Yes, you do, you definitely do. It is heartbreaking, but it is also awesome.

I second the OW. Also I'm sad we lost Anna and that she went over to the other side.

OMG MARY WINCHESTER ROCKS MY WORLD. I am so sad that she died but she was so awesome. John and Mary 4 EVER and when she's horrified and looking at Dean and saying "I raised my children to be hunters" my heart just broke for her and for all of them.

AUGH YES. Sam talking to John - woe.

MICHAEL -- that was a *surprise* - and I need to rewatch that 'cause my parents were having a fight or something at the time and missed that bit. But GO TEAM FREE WILL.

So wait, the Winchesters are descended from Cain and Abel? I'm a little confused on that...

Angels are watching over you is like a creepy threat now - thanks show.

Yeaaaah, um. I figure those two were chosen because they were brothers, and Cain, who I think was in fact the older, did kill Abel.

The scriptures don't say if Abel had kids before he was murdered. Cain did, after; Enoch was among his descendants, and Lamech, etc.

Adam and Eve then had another son, Seth, who had descendants of his own.

Etc. and so forth and so on.

And yes, I do feel better! I may rewatch the episode tonight, too. :)

... *facepalm* Yes. Exactly. Talk about leaving out something important.

And by relation to Seth, who was related to both Cain and Abel through the sibling relationship via Adam and Eve, teeeeeeeechnically Michael's statement was true, but yeesh.

It's not entirely clear, no. Unless it was a test, and part of the process of making Sam "strong" enough to kill Lilith/getting him under control was the whole demon blood storyline. And/or if Sam hadn't been a "worthy" vessel, he'd have died along the way....
