[3rd Scene] [Video]

Jun 13, 2011 23:33

[When the feed comes on, Kuja is sitting in a room, Karma in a water-basin that's big enough for the fish to at least be in water nearby, Miranda the Pidgey napping on a counter; he's got a sprawl of berries, a couple potions, and a few assorted things picked up from the larger shops in the city where it looks like he's taking notes on trying to ( Read more... )

sibling - wut do?, karma, violet, are you sure it's not dead

[Ritz, by contrast, is outside with her team.]

...So the flair for overly-flowery language is a permanent thing. Am I going to need a 'plain language' translator for you? [She's teasing. And trying not to grin as she does it.]

I should hope not, since that would imply you haven't understood a word I've said since we met. [Oh, he catches the lack of any real intent behind it. Not that it stops a shot back!]

Only when I'm really tired. [Ritz is showing off just how mature she is by blowing a raspberry at you, Kuja.]

[You have only succeeded in amusing him.] Then it's likely better for you - broaden your horizons a touch.

[Don't mind the iconface, Kuja. She's always like this with people she remembers fighting.]

Take it to a Pokemon Center. The nurses there should be able to tell you how to handle it.

[So he's most likely used to it. Which is a good thing, because she's not letting up.]

Starting with the basics is better than pulling random suggestions out of a crowd. The nurses know what they're doing most of the time.

[Used to it, yes, happy with it, not really.]

My apologies, I seem to have offended you somewhere. [He sounds less apologetic and more unimpressed.]

[gasp!] Oh, the poor dear! Shouldn't a fish like that be out in a larger body of water?

I tried to convince him of that when I first arrived here; this is the best I can do on short notice - he's followed me out across land before and jumped out of the water to try to keep up.

Apparently fish here can survive out of water. [His tone suggests that yes, he is still getting used to that concept, but it's at least one of the few things that makes his life easier.]

[she raises an eyebrow] Outside of water? That sounds unorthodox...

I suspect the standards of "orthodox" for this place are quite different from what either of us are used to.

[Cecil is somewhat torn between OH SHIT IT'S A KUJA GET IN THE CAR!!!!... and Awww, Feebas. Awww, Feebas ends up winning.]

Feebas learn a damaging attack in their teens; until then, you'll have to make it battle alongside another Pokémon. Their evolution also takes some work, though there might be an alternate way.

[He doesn't even know you yet and his reputation's managed to precede him. Ah, well.]

Hmm. I haven't been sending him out as yet since it seemed pointless, but if that's true then I might have to...

How do they come to evolve?

I'm... not quite certain, to be honest. Leviathan did so in a manner that reminded me of happiness-induced evolutions, but there were a few unexplainable differences. And when all of those new items were put on sale, she started pointing at one of the pictures incessantly. My Clefairy did the same, and it turned out she wanted an item that would allow her to evolve.

[He nods thoughtfully, considering the implications of that.]

Then I'd imagine that unless we can gain access to one of these items, working to improve his condition might be the best option for that, as well.

[Ack, sorry! I'd thought he was still in Violet, I may've misread something >.>; Didn't mean to throw you off!]

You were in - [A pause and a confused headtilt-] We must've just missed you.

Well, whatever just happened, at least it seems to have worked out. [Just being here is a bit of a reality done borked itself, so Johto will have to work to truly surprise him...]

Yes, indeed. We've been staying at the centers, mostly; I believe Ritz is out training, I've been taking advantage of the larger city to see what else I could find for this one. [And he glances down at the fish.]

We - should make some arrangement to meet. [As slightly anxious as the idea makes him - it's not that it's a bad thing, but...]

[Well when as far as you know, you're dead...]
