BTW, I don't want soap that goes "clunk" when it hits the floor. Sounds a little harsh.

Um, I'm not sure of the timeline but the reason he's so distant is because he's not used to having someone who cares about him and he's afraid that he can't be what Bobby needs.

So what does soap do? Make a clatter? A click? A thud? I don't drop the soap, so I wouldn't know.

This is a very manga-like thread: debating the transcription of sound effects. Lux definitely has a point. If you drop a solid bar of soap into an acrylic tub with some space under it, it could easily go clunk. My original thought (this gets more and more ludicrous the more I talk about it!) was that clunk was the sound of stone on stone and, but I guess it depends how soft the soap is! Schlummmmp! Squish!

But even if it's solid, I would go for *thump* I think!

Dickens would have written more novels except for worries about this sort of thing...

You know what's funny, it was bothering me so I posted something else in this lj asking what sound soap does make. So far, I think we've come up with a thud sound, assuming it was a tile floor and a full bar of soap that was dropped while water was runing. Ironically enough, the same post concerns manga.. and I just finished reading Gravitation, book 1. It's weird how something like this bothers me... lol. And I just wrote something yetserday about someone tossing an empty glass onto carpeted floor, and making sure it made a sort of muffled thump sound. :)
