The Phelpses are interesting people. A friend of mine on LJ went to school with the grandkids, and my cousin Caleb was one of the funerals targeted where they actually showed up. When Caleb died and it became apparent they were going to show up, I was really fucking grateful for the Patriot Guard. These bikers that didn't know Caleb at all personally escorted his casket from Chicago (where it was being flown) to my hometown (roughly 3 hours) and they came from all over to attend and shield the family from the Phelpses, including from states far away. Illinois has a law now that forbids protests within 200 feet of a funeral.

The reason violence doesn't work with the Phelpses is that they'll just sue. That's sort of how they make their money.

They will sue, sure, and eventually it will cost someone some money. But how many times will these retarded hatemongers keep going out and protesting if they KNOW its going to end up in an epic assbeating delivered by people who either have no money or dont care if they get sued?
