If I were the kind of person who believed in too much fun, I might be kind of pissed at myself after this weekend, you guys. So I guess it's a good thing I'm a firm believer in maximum fun. Because this weekend? Was FUN
( Read more... )
It was. But it wasn't the kind of fun that's also kind of stressful--it was the kind of fun that's busy but doesn't wear you out. Soooo, my favorite kind.
And what IS going to happen to Anne and Gilbert? Woe!
I have a good feeling about this. (Oh, gosh, I haven't seen Anne of Avonlea in AGES, but the novel of Anne of the Island was always my favorite, because of Anne's fun-loving college days and the super-romantic ending. SUCK IT, ROY GARDINER.)
I bet it didn't hurt that you got to fly instead of drive ;)
Glenna, it was like MAGIC--even though it actually takes nearly as long, once you factor in all the airport time. I don't mind the drive, but I can't tell you how nice it was to be there without having driven there.
Fun fact: The Kingsport train station is in Dundas Ontario (as in, next door to my town), and the downtown Kingsport shots (where you see the carriages going by and all the Pringles business signs) are from Toronto's Distillery district. Anne of Avonlea is like the patchwork of southern Ontario location shooting.
That IS a fun fact! Also:
a) Gilbert's Canadian accent is waaaay more pronounced than Anne's, to the point of being comic, and
b) there are some pretty badass handknits in that movie. Just saying.
I know, but we decided that it was better to go "my outfit doesn't match, but it works anyway, and do you wanna make something of it, pal?" than "I am a bridesmaid." Hence the mixing and matching of motifs. (Plus, I really do think the red earrings pulled it all together--anything more would have been too nuts, but at least you could tell I was doing it on purpose.) And who doesn't love red heels?
LOL! SO TRUE. I do not understand the appeal one bit.
Ugh, I think he's actually getting less attractive--I've never been into him, but always thought, "Well, at least he was cute in Harry Potter..." but now? Ick. I don't think anything about him is attractive. And he DOES look like an iguana.
So umm, I only know about the teen choice awards because three of the stars of a show I totally love that may or may not air on ABC Family and be about gymnastics were there. So, did you see them/did they win anything?

I don't think they won anything, but they might not have been on long enough--they might be up for next year? And I didn't see anything about them, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. I didn't know who a lot of the people were (and actually, Kendra works with high schoolers at her church, and I think one of the girls in her group is on that show. I'll ask her who it is!).

Your recap of the Teen Choice Awards is hilarious. This senior citizen right here is raising her hand. :)
