Mrs. Pommelhorse? I'm ready to go home now.

The entire agenda for my evening is as follows: 1) Acorn Squash with Chile-Lime Vinaigrette; 2) watch Glee; 3) knit; 4) pack for Rhiiinebeck! Which is tomooooorrow, sort of!

Anything else and I will just burst, or else collapse and not wake up until Thanksgiving. Which would be bad, because then I would miss all the knitting, and seeing carmen_sandiego(The sad ( Read more... )

road trip!, knitting, dc, yum!, movies

Mine is currently attempting to block and dry but suspect this will fail and I will have to wrap in plastic bag and air-dry once arrived.

Blocking? What is this "blocking" of which you speak? Mine'll probably be straight off the needles (actually, I suppose I could block it overnight on Friday, if it's done...hmm).

Glee and Bones!

I'm torn between extreme Wednesday-TV envy (also, I totally spoiled myself for tonight's episode, la la la almost-kiss?!), but when I think about it, it's possible that there is simply too much joy in having them air together. All other TV nights would pale in comparison! So, even as I clamor for my Thursday Bones, I think I can accept the wait. Sort of. (See: self-spoiling.)

WHAT?! *flails* *looks at clock* Only six hours and 20 minutes to go. When did I become such a whore for this show?

I...totally should not have said that. Sorry! But, if you are feeling spoiler-whorish (it's only six hours, anyway!), you might check this out.

I am a bad influence, and I apologize.

I totally agree with you re: Whip It, although I harbor no illusions about either my ability to skate (dubious) or my ability to roller derby (even more dubious). I'm not a wimp, but I've had enough pain in my life to know that I don't like it. ;-)

As for Ellen Page, I don't know enough about her personally to draw any conclusions, which is generally how I like it re: actors. Some of them are probably really cool, but I'll never know for sure.

I vary wildly on this. There are definitely celebrities who fascinate me as people, but there are also definitely celebrities whom I'd rather not know much about (oddly, both David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel fall under this category--somehow, knowing basically anything about them personally seems like...too much?), and the dividing line is 100% arbitrary. It's not that I don't like them, or that I think their personal life is scandalous; I just...don't feel comfortable about them as people, or something. It's hard to explain.

In any case, I heard Ellen Page on my hometown morning show when Juno came out. I'm sure she's a nice enough girl--she didn't seem spoiled, or anything like that--but she did come across as a little pretentious and very, very young. Which, of course, she is. Maybe I'll love her when she's 35? (Wow, do I sound old ( ... )

Oh, man, my college housemates and I discovered that show our senior year, and we watched it ALL the TIME. For HOURS. Like, funny sweet sadness with Frances McDormand narrating and the future Maeby Funke AND Ann Veal? There can be nothing bad here.

Have fun being a crazy knitter! And keeping with your pattern, I think it's supposed to be rainy and cold. Hopefully it'll let up some while you're there.
