Teaching is as teaching does...

It was a rare thing that Percy took an active role in teaching. For the longest he had let Alex learn the ways of vampires on his own, silently watching over him but otherwise keeping his opinions and knowledge to himself. In much the same manner he had let Brody come into this world on his own, learning everything with a keen pain of regret to ( Read more... )

It usually happened that sunset came and everyone woke up, and the three of them would leave to go hunt or whatever while Brody went to Anson's to eat. And then found stuff, other stuff, to do, anything to be out of the house instead of cooped up all day indoors.

"What?" He blinked, looking up as Percy came in. He was dressed, sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling his boots on--which was an ordeal in and of itself, with all those buckles. Then he glanced around, furtively. "...Did I do something wrong?"

"Wrong?" Percy blinked a moment, before shaking his head and looking about the room. It looked as though a war of taste had gone on behind closed doors. There was a certain undercoat of Alex's touch on everything...mixed in with that Percy could only imagine was Brody's. "No...I want you to come hunting with me, is all. I want to..." To teach you...

He left it hanging, nodding toward the door instead. "Finish getting ready, hurry."

Ripped out pages from fashion magazines taped up on the walls, half-finished pieces of clothing lying around--half a pair of pants, an unhemmed skirt, a jacket with no sleeves. He had more unfinished hand-made pieces than he did actual clothes that he wears.

"Oh. Okay!" He struggled to get his boots on the rest of the way, tugging them so hard he nearly bowled over the side of the bed. Which would be hilarious, and 100% Brody, but alas, he managed to keep his balance. Buckling them up the rest of the way, he hopped to his feet and shoved a few things in his back pocket--cash (you never know), cigarettes, lighter. "Okay, I'm good."

Smirking just barely, Percy waited patiently, before turning toward the door and leading the way from their shared home. Moving out into the streets, the vampire seemed at ease in his walk.

"Where do you like to hunt?" He asked finely, eyes looking back at Brody with an expecting glint to him, waiting patiently. "We can go there if you like."
