Teaching is as teaching does...

It was a rare thing that Percy took an active role in teaching. For the longest he had let Alex learn the ways of vampires on his own, silently watching over him but otherwise keeping his opinions and knowledge to himself. In much the same manner he had let Brody come into this world on his own, learning everything with a keen pain of regret to foul his desire to no longer be what he had irrevocably become.

Dressed in his usual attire, brushing his hair back and waiting, the vampire stood outside Brody's room with his eyes focused on the door. Alex had slipped out some time before, happily chattering to anyone that would listen about the wonders of 'Visa Checkcards', something he had stolen off the last soul he had killed. And Arsene had likewise already taken his leave, slipping into the night to hunt with the smallest sign of disinterest. Normally Percy would have gone with the pair, or ventured out on his own.

"Brody," he called finally, pushing the door open as he grew tired of waiting, "come out."
