I agree with you 100 percent, and Warren Leight's "things change" response when asked about this very thing on Twitter just doesn't cut it.

Nevertheless, I have complete faith that you will make it work in the end, and I'm so looking forward to reading your story when you're ready to share it. :)

Heh, thanks for that.

Yeah, I stuck a few pins in my Warren Leight doll after seeing the epi and webisodes, but then I reminded myself that like all TV writers he's by necessity first a businessman, with a constant eye on the bottom line of his CURRENT project, and that he doesn't actually understand the CI fanbase OR Eames as well as he thinks he does.

I hope I can wrangle my fic into something publishable; I am constantly plagued with the worry that I'm gaslighting myself... I feel like my work is getting less-publication-worthy, and I don't know if it's because I'm ratcheting up my expectations of myself or losing my touch LOL.

Well, Alex and Olivia aren't friends, so she has no reason to be sharing the fact that she and Bobby are together. And besides, divulging anything to Olivia could put Bobby's current location and assignment in jeopardy. You don't really believe he's in Maine writing a book do you?

And Eames isn't really seeing a fireman, either. That wasn't a full lie, but rather a tiny white lie because I believe one of the last time they were together that they role played (Remember how fun it was seeing them pretend to be married/together on the show, for other people? Now I think they just do it for themselves.) I imagine that one of the last times they saw each other, he pretended to be a fireman and let her handle his hose.

I think that Eames has a different answer each time anyone asks her where Bobby is. And each time she's asked about her love life, she probably just picks from either the most recent or past favorite of any of the different roles Bobby has taken on in the bedroom with her.

What do you think?

Heh, that's funny!! I really hoped that Leight or Erbe or whoever was purposely throwing that stupid book thing out as a red herring, but although my wild child fic that I spoke of in this post has it as a lie, I wasn't sure TPTB intended it to be such.

I DO think it's way more likely that she's lying... she was sooooooo forthcoming with Benson (even in the epi) where she is usually very private and circumspect, I immediately thought she must be lying. And yeah, I thought Bobby was probably on assignment somewhere and she was at the ATTF as part of his cover.

LOL @ the hose.

Eames was just so OOC that episode, I really hoped that all the detailed explanations she gave Benson were a fiction, but I lack confidence in the writers.

I want her to lie to Benson! She's not a friend and doesn't know her at all, so why trust her with anything about her life.

Just because they're both NYPD doesn't mean they have anything in common outside of that.

I think the webisodes were the most OOC Eames of all. I'd have preferred that Leight and Co. hadn't tried to do any favors for the fans.

Yeah exactly, and Eames has always struck me as someone who really has internalised the dangers of being too chummy with fellow officers, sharing personal things with them... and she's never (despite my fic WHiV) seemed to be particularly chummy with female officers just because they were women.

Oh the webisodes were so dreadful. I actually think the best-case scenario is that the epi was for shippers and the webisodes were for noromos.

Since you have so many conflicting facets, you'll have to write so many more stories to untangle it all.

There. How's that for a fix? <3
