I finally watched the SVU episode Acceptable Loss, had a post-ep idea, started writing.
I thought it was gonna be a quick and dirty oneshot WAFF with a bit of angst.
It turned into a fat, greasy angstburger, which I tried to wrangle for a while.
But the further I get the uglier it seems to me.
The main problem I think is, I am having a hard time suspending my disbelief regarding the apparent status of the B/A relationship at the point of that episode.
I mean, Eames might totally have been lying to Benson (I think she was lying at least a bit, in fact that's the basis of my fic), but was there anything in the epi or the horrible, tiresome webisodes that indicated that B/A were actually together and Eames was hiding it?
Because I actually really have a hard time buying that the stated condition of the B/A relationship was a logical progression from the end of tBitBKC.
In other words, if they weren't knocking boots within WEEKS of that episode, I'll eat my hat.
So writing something where they're still dancing around each other 15 months later is really really hard to make believable becaus I don't believe it.
Oh well, I'm gonna keep plugging away at that fic, if for no other reason than my own determination and/or as an exercise.
Aaaaaand, I'm gonna put the whole SVU thing to bed after that. It doesn't add anything to my B/A head!canon, so I'm gonna just ignore it.
