I showed up just an hour before doors opened and was further back in the crowd at the start, but by MCR's second song everyone had moved so much that without much action on my part, I was right up by the stage -- so it was nice, not having to line up so early.
Definitely wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes, no bag, check or hide your coat because you will sweat through it, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF YOU HAVE LONG HAIR PUT IT IN A PONYTAIL. I always get so many people's sweaty long hair in my mouth at shows ughhhhhh (also I feel bad for eating their beautiful hair).
Keep your forearms up in front of you. I find when the crowd surges forward, it's much easier to stay upright if you lean back against it; everyone that rushes ahead gets crushed and trips and falls and has to shuffle back again anyway. And if you see an empty spot in front of you, take advantage and move up! Just don't be an asshole; if there isn't space, don't try.
It will be AWESOME :D
