*chinhands* Iiiinteresting! I'm always intrigued by people who've been in fandom I haven't, especially when it's something like HP, where I LOOOOVE the books but wouldn't touch the fic with a ten-foot pole (*cough* unless it's Marauders-era *cough*). Also, people who are ACTUALLY in LOTRips and not just vaguely and accidentally shipping it IRL.

heh, I was suuuuper into Ron/Hermione fic back in the day. read a ton, wrote a bit too, was a member of a fanfic site and everything. but I kind of drifted away from it once I discovered slash. the first slash fic I read was probably a Harry/Draco one, and I remember being like OH THIS IS SO WRONG ....but really fucking hot oh my goddddd, and I bookmarked it and it was my guilty pleasure fic for a while. and then I discovered lotrips, and through that I discovered lj. and more slash. and bdsm. LOL

you've read the shoebox project, right? omgggg best marauders-era fic EVER.

RIGHT? I am endlessly amused.

God, I can't even remember the first slash fic I ever properly read - it may have been from that Van Helsing film though, and therefore featured Dracula and torture!porn. Oh bb!self, what. I do remember mentally scarring the computer dude at achool though, cause we had adult content filters and he would obviously get notifications every time anyone tried to acess a blocked website (apparently I was like, constantly top of the list, whoops), and apparently before he knew any better he checked up on what I was trying to look at and found Green Day threesome porn featuring a...creative use of drumsticks. Every time he saw me after that he'd just look at me and be all "Drumsticks." and I'd be all "/o\ shhhh!"

SHOEBOX, YES. THERE AREN'T ENOUGH HEARTS IN THE WOOOORLD. Also, it's not my head!canon, so every time I re-read the books I'm all "Caradoc, \o/" and forget he hasn't actually been oiling McGonagall up on a beach in canon.
