It was said the other day, by a young man near me, that he would not begin sexual congress with a woman who was intoxicated [if they hadn't come to some kind of agreement previously].

While this is a quite helpful stage of thought for a young man to progress through, I must emphasise the progressing through part of it. I myself used to feel along ( Read more... )

This is unbelievable. I came here to un-friend you because I cannot get the last time you victim-blamed out of my mind, and find this.

This is quite upsetting. I as just thinking fondly of you last night, thinking I should get off my ass and txt you.

I went a had a look, and I certainly never victim-blamed. My whole post was about the shitty job of reporting the papers do, and in the comments I simply said that I thought it unlikely she was raped in the lounge bar (which is not a nightclub). I even said if it was rape then nothing defends them.

This post simply says that if a woman I find attractive is intoxicated and wants to make out with, or more, me, that I have no moral objection to this action occurring (regardless of my state of intoxication). Stated exceptions are if I think she's so drunk she doesn't know where she is.

In my experience, if a conversation has gotten to this point, then someone has already lost. If you want to sever contact, go ahead, although I see I'm already off your flist.

You can't wrap people in cotton wool. They have to be responsible for their own actions and you can't tread on eggshells because someone might be offended by yours. Alcohol lowers inhibitions most people know that, if you don't want to get in a state where you could slip up and make a move you'll regret. don't drink. or at least be smart about it.
