I don't think I have the willpower to leave... It would be a temporary dalliance to show how the pairing could work, and nothing more.

Why would you write an irritating and loathable caricature when you could have a multidimensional and somewhat sympathetic person?

Because you're taking notes from the JKR school of Voldemort villainy?

You know I agree with you on this. And people just need to get with the program. Want Ron out of the way for Snapey. Simple. Give him a pairing of his own, and allow him to have his faults, but his virtues too.

And I just never felt right about Luna for him somehow, which is about the only popular alternative Het pairing.

And see, this saves you from any R/Hr impulses. Cuz you can have your Snapey/Hermy and Ron-love too.

I do my best not to...

The 12 steps to stop the bashing of Ronald program? We could make a DVD!

I agree with you on Luna-love her by herself, but she'd drive Ron insane in oblivious ways... I think he needs someone with an edge, who doesn't mind getting her/his hands dirty and shouting a bit.

I still kind of want to write the R/Hr, but it's slowly morphing into a fic with different pairings in the end. We'll see what happens, I suppose.

I'd love to see what you'd do with a R/Hr. A short one. Your only one. *cough* Always good to have *one* in different pairings.... Just as long as it's not a habit...

Friends with benefits, as someone who came into a life and left it changed. I can see her with Neville, Harry, Ron and Snape that way--but really hard to see it as being forever, because in the end I think Luna would drive them all nuts--even Harry, though I think he's more plausible long-term than the others ( ... )

Well, I read all over the place really (and consider myself to have two other OTPs-Drarry and Ron/Pansy) so it surprises me a bit that I haven't written more outside the ship and very little that directly contradicts it. Apparently I am more OTP than I thought.

I actually loathe Luna/Neville with a passion-it strikes me as ridiculous for reasons that I've never really examined. I very much like the thought of Luna/Charlie (even if I prefer the thought of Charlie as the gay Weasley, because statistically speaking it's kind of inevitable).

Heeee. So true.
